Base Salary
$115k - $130k/yr
Responsibilities
- Design, build, and enhance FeeNavigator features using PHP/Laravel and Vue.
- Develop efficient database queries and optimize MySQL performance.
- Write and maintain unit, integration, and end-to-end tests and validate changes through production.
- Refactor complex areas of a large codebase into maintainable, well-structured components.
- Document business logic, application workflows, and architectural decisions.
- Collaborate with Product Managers on requirements and technical solution design.
- Participate in code reviews and share engineering best practices.
- Work with SRE to make software observable, resilient, secure, and production-ready.
- Diagnose and resolve incidents, defects, and performance bottlenecks.
- Contribute to development-process, tooling, and engineering-practice improvements.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or equivalent experience.
- At least 5 years of experience developing complex applications.
- Fluency in PHP and modern development practices.
- Strong understanding of object-oriented programming and design patterns.
- Experience with relational databases such as MySQL, including schema design and query optimization.
- Experience with JavaScript or TypeScript, Vue, npm, CSS, and SCSS.
- Ability to navigate large established codebases and make sound changes with limited guidance.
- Familiarity with secure coding principles, Git, CI/CD workflows, and the full software development lifecycle.
- Ability to use AI-assisted development tools effectively while reviewing and validating their output.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively.
- Preferred: Laravel or similar PHP framework experience; Vue ecosystem experience with Quasar, Pinia, or Vite; Docker; Redis or Memcached; AWS services; Sentry or New Relic; cloud-native or SaaS architecture; Python and ML-adjacent services such as Flask, Pandas, or scikit-learn; and a record of improving engineering standards.
