Base Salary

$125k - $150k/yr

Responsibilities

  • Develop automation to deploy and manage on-premise Kubernetes clusters.
  • Deploy and manage core infrastructure including databases, monitoring, and distributed storage.
  • Collaborate with software engineers to create scalable, operable, and maintainable products.
  • Improve services across their full lifecycle from inception and design through deployment, operation, and refinement.
  • Monitor and alert supporting systems to maintain high availability.
  • Perform hands-on integration and troubleshooting across the Starshield technology stack.
  • Identify improvement opportunities and create solutions that increase system availability.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, information systems/IT, or an engineering discipline and at least one year of professional site reliability engineering or DevOps experience, or at least three years of such experience in lieu of a degree.
  • At least one year of professional experience with Linux operating systems.
  • Experience with Terraform, Ansible, or comparable infrastructure tools.
  • Experience with containerization technologies such as OCI containers and Kubernetes, including preferred experience managing Kubernetes clusters.
  • Experience scripting in Bash, Python, or similar languages and development experience in Python, C++, or Go.
  • Preferred experience with Python-based development frameworks, Linux boot processes, systems configuration, testing, continuous integration, build, deployment, and continuous monitoring.
  • Preferred understanding of Bazel, Makefiles, distributed databases, data modeling, TCP/IP networking, performance improvement, and large-scale server automation.
  • Active Top Secret, Top Secret SCI, or DOE Level Q clearance is preferred; the position requires obtaining and maintaining a Top Secret clearance.
  • Applicants must satisfy applicable ITAR citizenship, residency, refugee, asylee, or authorization requirements.
  • Strong communication skills and willingness to work extended hours and weekends as needed.
