Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain UI automation frameworks using Playwright with TypeScript.
- Build and execute functional, non-functional, and accessibility tests for shared UI components.
- Integrate accessibility testing into automation pipelines and promote WCAG-compliant, accessibility-first engineering practices.
- Lead testing strategy for shared UI components, analyze failures and test flakiness, and partner with engineering teams on resolution.
- Improve CI/CD pipelines for test automation, build, and execution.
- Review test automation code and promote clean-code principles and design patterns.
- Mentor junior engineers and influence testing standards, tools, and best practices across engineering teams.
- Serve as a trusted advisor on modern UI testing approaches and frameworks.
Requirements
- 6+ years of experience in software testing with a strong focus on UI test automation.
- Strong hands-on experience with Playwright for UI automation and advanced proficiency in TypeScript and JavaScript.
- Experience testing Angular applications, including Angular Material components.
- Strong understanding of HTML5, CSS selectors, DOM structure, web accessibility testing, and assistive technologies.
- Experience building and maintaining automation frameworks from scratch, including knowledge of testing best practices, test types, and test strategies.
- Experience defining UI quality and accessibility standards across multiple engineering teams or shared platforms is preferred.
- Experience tracking and acting on quality metrics, defects, and trends is preferred.
- Proficiency with Git-based version control and integrating test automation into CI/CD pipelines is preferred.
- Experience mentoring engineers and driving adoption of clean-code principles and modern testing design patterns is preferred.
- A proven track record advising on modern UI testing approaches, tools, and accessibility-first frameworks is preferred.
