Responsibilities
- Own end-to-end computer vision projects from problem framing and planning through production deployment and monitoring.
- Develop solutions for equipment defect detection, thermal anomaly identification, vegetation encroachment monitoring, and closed-area intrusion surveillance.
- Research, adapt, implement, and benchmark methods from machine learning and computer vision papers.
- Design experiments involving hyperparameter tuning, ablation studies, baselines, and structured error analysis.
- Select and fine-tune model architectures based on accuracy, latency, and task requirements.
- Build Python libraries, data pipelines, annotation workflows, quality monitoring, model-serving pipelines, and reproducible experiment-tracking systems.
- Conduct code reviews, write integration tests, and uphold software quality standards for ML systems.
- Deliver client projects, communicate technical decisions and model limitations, and collaborate with other engineers.
Requirements
- 5–10 years of industry experience in computer vision and machine learning.
- Deep expertise in object detection, semantic segmentation, image classification, vision transformers, foundation models, vision-language models, and similarity search.
- Proven experience deploying and maintaining machine learning models in production.
- Experience selecting, fine-tuning, and adapting CNN, transformer, and foundation-model architectures.
- Ability to read research papers, implement key ideas, debug training instabilities, and perform systematic error analysis.
- Proficiency with Python, PyTorch, Lightning, OpenCV, NumPy, pandas, Scikit-Learn, FastAPI, and Pydantic.
- Strong software engineering practices involving Git, Pytest, GitHub Actions, Docker, experiment tracking, model versioning, and Python type hinting.
- Ability to independently own technical projects from problem framing through production deployment.
- Additional experience with multimodal computer vision, custom object detection, generative models for data augmentation, edge-device deployment, GIS or drone-metadata-enriched imagery, model quantization, or systematic hyperparameter tuning is desired.
