Responsibilities
- Lead architecture and system design for scalable, high-performance C++ applications with real-time behavior and predictable latency.
- Design multithreading, synchronization, asynchronous I/O, interoperability, and low-latency system components.
- Optimize threading behavior, lock contention, memory allocation, scalability, and performance-critical code paths.
- Drive modern C++ practices, code reviews, unit testing, architecture reviews, design documentation, roadmaps, refactoring, and legacy modernization.
- Mentor development teams on system design, coding practices, and maintaining code quality.
- Collaborate with engineering, product, and business stakeholders to translate requirements into architectural designs.
- Guide dependency management, build tooling, secure software supply chain practices, and cross-platform Linux/Windows development.
- Contribute to software solutions for power-grid management, monitoring, industrial automation, and critical infrastructure.
Requirements
- University degree in computer science, engineering, or a related technical field.
- 10+ years of experience in senior technical or software architecture roles.
- Advanced proficiency in modern C++ including C++17/20, RAII, smart pointers, STL, concurrency, and memory management.
- Experience with multithreading, synchronization primitives, asynchronous I/O, real-time system design, performance profiling, optimization, and low-latency systems.
- Proficiency with CMake, Visual Studio, and cross-platform development for Windows and Linux.
- Experience with Docker, Kubernetes, and microservices architecture patterns.
- Understanding of software architecture, secure and scalable system design, unit and integration testing, and testing frameworks.
- Experience with Cloud, DevOps, cybersecurity, UI/web development, and non-functional requirements such as performance, scalability, and security.
- Practical experience with power-grid management and monitoring, WAMS/WAMPAC, PMU data, protection and control applications, industrial automation systems, SCADA, IED, and RTU environments.
- Experience with IEC 61850, IEC-60870-5-104, DNP3, OPC UA, and IEEE C37.118, plus system integration, simulators, or laboratory environments.
- Understanding of numerical methods, signal processing, control fundamentals, high-frequency time-aligned time-series data, power-system dynamics, and renewable-energy stability challenges.
- Excellent problem-solving, communication, collaboration, English-language, and customer-requirement translation skills.
