Responsibilities
- Define the technical strategy and architectural direction for Digital Identity platforms spanning identity resolution, entitlement management, and fine-grained authorization.
- Design scalable authorization architectures for multi-person, business, family, and custodial access patterns.
- Lead convergence of overlapping identity and authorization infrastructure across multiple technology organizations.
- Architect verification, reconciliation, integrity-checking, drift-detection, and self-healing systems for Tier-0 financial platforms.
- Establish operational processes, incident response standards, reliability practices, design reviews, and engineering standards.
- Mentor senior individual contributors and build an engineering culture focused on technical leadership and continuous improvement.
- Identify high-leverage technical investments and represent technical direction to peer groups and senior or executive leadership.
- Write code and use AI-assisted development to prototype and accelerate engineering work.
Requirements
- Experience designing and shipping distributed systems platforms at scale that other engineering teams depend on.
- Strong understanding of event-driven system failure modes, eventual consistency, cross-service data integrity, and production tradeoffs among consistency, availability, and latency.
- Experience building systems with reconciliation mechanisms, audit trails, integrity guarantees, and automated verification.
- Active use of AI for software development, prototyping, and experimentation, with the ability to assess its benefits and risks.
- Experience driving technical strategy across multiple teams and navigating ambiguous technical and organizational problems.
- Track record of establishing engineering processes and standards, improving operational readiness and on-call practices, and mentoring senior engineers.
- Experience owning measurable outcomes such as enabling products, eliminating risks, and unblocking teams.
- Preferred experience with identity and authorization platforms, multi-tenant or consumer-facing systems, relationship-based access control, fine-grained authorization, or identity federation.
- Preferred experience in financial services or other regulated industries requiring compliance, audit trails, and strong data integrity.
- Preferred track record of merging or unifying infrastructure across acquisitions, subsidiaries, or organizations with different technology stacks.
