Base Salary
$262k - $364k/yr
Responsibilities
- Define and drive the technical strategy and architecture for Model Armor and Sensitive Data Protection.
- Design and implement scalable, low-latency systems for detecting and mitigating prompt injection, jailbreaking, and sensitive data leakage.
- Align AI/ML security roadmaps across Google Cloud, DeepMind, and other product areas while balancing latency, cost, and compliance.
- Resolve technical disagreements and build consensus across engineers and researchers on high-stakes initiatives.
- Partner with executive leadership on ML security research and mentor staff and executive engineers.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience.
- 8 years of software development experience.
- 7 years leading technical project strategy, ML design, and industry-scale ML infrastructure, including model deployment, evaluation, data processing, debugging, or fine-tuning.
- 5 years of experience in speech/audio, reinforcement learning, ML infrastructure, or another ML specialization.
- 5 years of experience with software design and architecture and with testing and launching software products.
- 5 years of cloud experience.
- Preferred: Master’s degree or PhD in Engineering, Computer Science, or a related technical field.
- Preferred: 8 years of experience with data structures and algorithms.
- Preferred: 5 years in a technical leadership role leading project teams and setting technical direction.
- Preferred: 5 years of Java programming experience.
- Preferred: Experience with AI model security, adversarial machine learning, data privacy, prompt injection defenses, or LLM introspection.
- Preferred: Experience delivering enterprise-grade security products with measurable customer and business outcomes.
