Responsibilities
- Collaborate with engineers, designers, and product managers to translate product and technical vision into production code.
- Advocate for and implement modern architectural patterns while extending systems to support increasing scale.
- Design schemas and monitor and optimize database queries for performance.
- Build internal tools, frameworks, and automation that improve developer productivity across the software development lifecycle.
- Write thoroughly tested code, conduct code reviews, and provide guidance, documentation, and support to product teams using the platform.
- Use observability tools to improve frontend application performance and reliability.
- Partner with product engineers to align on platform improvements.
Requirements
- 6–10 years of experience designing, building, and supporting large-scale systems in production.
- Expertise in Python and frameworks such as FastAPI, Flask, Pyramid, or Django.
- Experience with SQL database schema design and query optimization.
- Experience with cloud technologies such as AWS, Azure, GCP, Docker, and Kubernetes.
- Experience with continuous integration and Infrastructure as Code.
- Strong problem-solving, independent working, collaboration, flexibility, and adaptability skills.
- Preferred experience working on platform teams, building developer tools, GraphQL, and decomposing monoliths into microservices.
- Preferred experience building or integrating LLM-powered systems, using AI-assisted workflows across the software development lifecycle, and evaluating AI-generated code and outputs.
- Preferred familiarity with tool-calling agents, planning and execution loops, retrieval-augmented generation, LLMs, embeddings, semantic search, and RAG pipelines.
