Responsibilities
- Design and build reliable, performant, secure platform building blocks.
- Own the evolution of multiple platform areas and influence the platform team roadmap.
- Partner across engineering teams to provide cross-cutting solutions.
- Deliver deadline-sensitive work that is interdependent with other engineering teams.
- Drive continuous improvement of the platform and challenge the status quo.
- Participate regularly in peer code reviews and engineering design reviews.
Requirements
- At least 7 years of experience designing, building, shipping, and maintaining backend distributed systems.
- At least 7 years of experience designing, building, shipping, and maintaining products or platforms.
- Bachelor’s or master’s degree in Computer Science or an equivalent field.
- Experience building and integrating API-based platforms and understanding REST and other RPC-based systems.
- Experience building and maintaining microservices in Python, Golang, Java, or C++.
- Experience with cloud infrastructure such as AWS, GCP, or Azure.
- Experience solving performance, optimization, scalability, latency, and monitoring challenges.
- Ability to communicate complex engineering concepts clearly to product and cross-functional stakeholders.
- Strong ownership, curiosity, learning orientation, and willingness to give and receive feedback.
- Experience working with machine learning products is preferred.
