Responsibilities

  • Lead a feature team while contributing hands-on to software design, development, testing, deployment, and production support.
  • Design and build Python and Java microservices and batch/EOD components.
  • Develop resilient REST and event-driven integrations with upstream and downstream systems and data stores.
  • Lead responsible adoption and validation of enterprise-authorized AI-assisted software development practices.
  • Maintain code quality through automated testing, architectural checks, code reviews, secure coding, and peer collaboration.
  • Provide estimates, support story mapping and backlog refinement, facilitate sprint ceremonies, and communicate progress, risks, and trade-offs.
  • Drive engineering practices for CI/CD, observability, performance, reliability, and secure coding.
  • Mentor and coach engineers and lead solution design and delivery while remaining an individual technical contributor.

Requirements

  • Formal training or certification in software engineering concepts and 5+ years of applied experience.
  • Production software development and support experience with Python and Java 17 or later.
  • Strong experience with Spring Boot, REST APIs, and microservices design patterns.
  • Strong computer science fundamentals, including object-oriented analysis and design, collections, concurrency/multithreading, and SQL query development and performance troubleshooting.
  • Experience leading the effective use of approved AI-assisted software development tools and validating their outputs for correctness, performance, and security.
  • Understanding of responsible AI use, data sensitivity, secure input/output handling, resiliency, and security expectations in engineering workflows.
  • End-to-end ownership of software design, build, test, release, operation, and support.
  • Technical leadership experience including code reviews, mentoring, standards-setting, and delivery leadership.
  • Clear communication, stakeholder management, and ability to translate complex concepts into pragmatic decisions.
  • Experience with testing strategy, CI/CD, reliability, observability, Agile teams, and translating business requirements into implementable designs.
  • Preferred experience in financial services, commercial lending, loan servicing, commercial credit or loan lifecycle processes.
  • Familiarity with ACBS or similar loan servicing platforms.
  • Experience with Kafka or equivalent event-streaming and data-distribution technologies.
  • Strong DevOps practices including deployment pipelines, monitoring, alerting, and incident support.
