Responsibilities
- Define standards for responsible AI, model governance, and production MLOps.
- Build or validate high-risk parts of strategic AI systems.
- Architect AI systems to prevent systemic failures.
- Build reusable AI capabilities for other engineers and clients.
- Advise on new AI developments and set the technical roadmap.
- Act as a senior technical partner to client leadership on AI strategy.
- Coach Senior Applied AI Engineers and delegate technical ownership.
- Contribute to recruiting and represent Scale's AI work externally.
Requirements
- 7+ years of engineering experience with AI/ML systems in production.
- Experience judging training data quality and evaluating fine-tuning results.
- Ownership of an AI-powered product end to end.
- Track record of establishing lasting standards in AI practices.
- Comfort operating with executive-level clients and defending technical positions.
- Deep experience with regulated AI deployment and auditability.
