Responsibilities
- Build and evolve JavaScript SDKs focused on server-side and edge runtimes
- Plan, implement, test, document, and ship code with end-to-end ownership
- Write robust unit and integration tests and produce clear customer-facing documentation
- Use AI tools to improve productivity while solving complex engineering problems
- Collaborate with TC39, the Node.js core team, OpenTelemetry SIG, and other open-source communities
- Assist the Customer Operations team with critical bugs and engage users through GitHub and industry conferences
Requirements
- At least 5 years of experience as a Software Engineer, web developer, or in a similar role
- Deep expertise developing web applications, libraries, or SDKs using TypeScript and JavaScript
- Hands-on Node.js experience and meaningful exposure to Bun, Deno, Cloudflare Workers, or another modern server runtime
- Strong understanding of differences among runtimes in module systems, APIs, performance characteristics, and deployment models
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills in English
- Based in the Toronto, Canada area or willing to relocate
- Experience with WinterCG, OpenTelemetry instrumentation, open-source libraries, or open-source committees is preferred
