Responsibilities
- Implement, test, and operate backend services and APIs supporting the agentic AI platform.
- Build and maintain asynchronous message-queue processing with retries, idempotency, dead-letter handling, and failure recovery.
- Contribute to pipelines that ingest, parse, store, and index large volumes of documents.
- Implement OAuth2, OIDC, and SAML authentication and authorization with role-based access control for multi-tenant environments.
- Design and optimize PostgreSQL schemas and queries and perform live-production schema migrations.
- Integrate search and vector storage technologies including Solr and Qdrant.
- Instrument services with metrics, logs, and traces, monitor service health, and participate in on-call rotation.
- Write automated tests, participate in code review, and maintain continuous integration pipelines.
- Contribute to technical design documentation and design reviews while collaborating with AI, backend, product, and security teams.
Requirements
- At least 3 years of professional experience building and operating production backend services, including responding to production issues.
- Proficiency in Python or a comparable language with the ability to work primarily in Python.
- Experience with at least one major cloud platform: AWS, GCP, or Azure.
- Experience with relational databases, including schema design, query optimization, and migrations; PostgreSQL is preferred.
- Experience with asynchronous or event-driven processing using message queues such as RabbitMQ or Kafka, or task workers.
- Experience designing and implementing REST APIs consumed by other services or teams.
- Experience with automated testing and continuous integration practices.
- Familiarity with containerized deployment using Docker and exposure to Kubernetes.
- Familiarity with observability practices including metrics, logging, and tracing.
- Demonstrated proficiency using AI tools in software development.
- Experience with high-volume data or document processing pipelines, multi-tenant SaaS architectures, infrastructure-as-code such as Terraform, AI/ML systems or data-intensive applications, legal technology or regulated industries, and authentication standards is preferred.
- Clear written and verbal communication and the ability to make progress on ambiguous problems with appropriate guidance.
