Responsibilities
- Design and develop secure, maintainable, and performant Java applications and services for credit risk workflows.
- Build and maintain responsive React frontend features for risk analysts and business stakeholders.
- Develop resilient, event-driven systems using Spring Framework, Spring Boot, and Kafka.
- Write and optimize SQL queries and data models for reporting, analytics, and application development.
- Use enterprise-authorized AI-assisted software development tools for coding, refactoring, testing, troubleshooting, and documentation, while validating outputs for correctness, performance, and security.
- Produce architecture and design artifacts for complex applications and ensure design constraints are met.
- Identify data and system problems and use findings to improve coding hygiene, architecture, and reliability.
- Collaborate with product, architecture, and business teams to gather requirements and deliver credit risk solutions.
- Participate in code reviews, share reusable patterns, and support continuous improvement and best-practice adoption.
Requirements
- Formal training or certification in software engineering concepts with proficient applied experience.
- Hands-on experience with system design, application development, testing, and operational stability in enterprise-scale environments.
- Proficiency in Java for backend application development, including modern frameworks and object-oriented design.
- Experience with Spring Framework or Spring Boot, Kafka, event-driven architecture, and resilient systems.
- Experience developing and maintaining frontend solutions using React or comparable modern JavaScript frameworks.
- Hands-on experience using enterprise-authorized AI-assisted software development tools and critically evaluating and refining their outputs.
- Understanding of responsible AI use, data sensitivity, secure input and output handling, resiliency, and security expectations.
- Experience writing and optimizing SQL queries for application development, data analysis, or reporting.
- Understanding of software delivery practices including continuous integration, continuous delivery, application resiliency, and secure coding.
- Ability to debug, troubleshoot, and maintain code in a large, complex corporate technology environment.
- Preferred familiarity with credit risk concepts, financial risk frameworks, or financial services domain knowledge.
- Preferred experience with AWS or Azure, data visualization or reporting frameworks, Docker or Kubernetes, and code review leadership or participation.
