Base Salary

Responsibilities
- Lead the Software Architecture Team for the AvionX Mission Systems Software organization.
- Direct the design, development, testing, debugging, and maintenance of software integrated into embedded devices and systems.
- Translate customer requirements into embedded software product designs that meet industry, customer, safety, and regulatory standards.
- Consult on embedded systems software for specialized hardware and on integration of embedded software with hardware components.
- Oversee analysis, monitoring, and improvement of embedded software efficiency and stability.
- Direct embedded software testing and debugging and influence relevant technologies, tools, frameworks, hardware technologies, and regulatory changes.
- Influence the company’s approach to software and hardware integration domains.
- Oversee internal and supplier software team performance to ensure compliance with project plans and industry standards.
- Provide technical leadership for embedded software project management functions and advise management on embedded software engineering topics.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent.
- At least 5 years of experience leading a software development team through the full software life cycle.
- At least 5 years of experience in software architecture and design of embedded software systems.
- Ability to obtain a U.S. Security Clearance; U.S. Government requirements for this position include U.S. citizenship.
- Preferred: Bachelor of Science in engineering, engineering technology, chemistry, physics, mathematics, data science, or computer science from an accredited course of study.
- Preferred: Experience with software architecture and design methodologies and synthesizing architectures and designs that meet requirements, characteristics, and constraints.
- Preferred: Experience with real-time software and with flight management systems and/or civil navigation.
- Preferred: Experience certifying software in alignment with DO-178C.
- Preferred: Experience developing software for motion planning, estimation, or control.
- Preferred: Experience developing software or simulations with MATLAB, Simulink, and/or C++.
- Ability to independently identify and solve team problems using creativity and established engineering principles.
- Ability to lead, communicate, and collaborate with stakeholders across multiple organizations.
