Responsibilities
- Define and maintain enterprise architecture standards, policies, reference architectures, and governance processes.
- Guide architecture decisions for major initiatives and translate business strategy into architectural direction, roadmaps, and investment plans.
- Provide application and engineering architecture guidance covering system design, APIs, data models, frameworks, testing, observability, and maintainability.
- Lead enterprise data platform architecture across warehouses, data lakes, lakehouses, batch and streaming pipelines, and DataOps practices.
- Establish data governance standards for data quality, lineage, governed access, automated controls, and observability.
- Validate delivery solutions against architectural standards and business intent while providing embedded guidance to Agile and SAFe teams.
- Identify technical debt and architectural risks and lead portfolio rationalization and modernization efforts.
- Influence engineering practices and development lifecycles across application, data, platform, and business stakeholder groups.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
- 12+ years of progressive software engineering experience.
- 4+ years of experience in enterprise or solution architecture roles.
- 2+ years of recent DataOps experience and 4+ years of project or initiative leadership experience.
- Strong programming expertise in Python, Java, C#, and TypeScript, plus full-stack system design experience.
- Expert-level SQL knowledge and deep experience with database technologies and data modeling.
- Experience designing and deploying production-grade systems and influencing engineering practices.
- Strong understanding of application, data, integration, and enterprise architecture domains.
- Experience using AI tools such as GitHub Copilot, ChatGPT, or Claude to improve development workflows.
- Strong communication and stakeholder-influence skills across technical and business audiences.
- Preferred experience in healthcare IT, including payer, provider, or health-system environments.
- Preferred experience with Azure-based DataOps platforms and tools such as Azure Synapse, Databricks, Fabric, dbt, or Apache Spark.
- Preferred experience with data governance frameworks and tools such as Microsoft Purview or Apache Atlas.
- Preferred knowledge of HIPAA, HL7, FHIR, CMS interoperability rules, Agile, and SAFe environments.
- Advanced certifications in cloud, data, or architecture domains are a plus.
