Responsibilities
- Develop and improve Firefox features related to installation, updates, and operating-system integration.
- Enhance the Firefox installation and update experience using data insights.
- Solve platform-specific, low-level operating-system integration challenges on Windows and macOS.
- Scope and prioritize work with the manager and team.
- Participate in code reviews and technical discussions.
- Own complex bugs and lead efforts to improve the Firefox experience for users.
- Collaborate with a geographically distributed team.
Requirements
- 3–5 years of experience as a software engineer.
- Experience with systems-level programming on at least one major platform, including Windows or macOS.
- Strong programming skills in C/C++.
- Ability to work independently, collaborate effectively in distributed teams, and make steady progress on technical projects.
- Rust programming experience is a bonus.
- Low-level experience with Windows or macOS APIs such as Win32 or Cocoa is a bonus.
- Additional Linux or macOS internals experience and open-source contributions are bonuses.
