Base Salary
$190k - $220k/yr
Responsibilities
- Own the architecture of the data ingestion and integration platform.
- Define technical direction for event-driven and batch processing, including build-versus-buy and migration decisions.
- Establish standards for observability, data freshness, and failure handling.
- Lead design across data engineering, infrastructure, product, and business teams.
- Mentor engineers through design reviews, technical guidance, and code contributions.
- Identify and drive resolution of unscoped platform problems.
- Design systems integrating ad platforms, order management systems, and real-time event collection.
Requirements
- 8+ years of software or data engineering experience, including significant experience owning large-scale ingestion, ETL, or integration platform architecture.
- Deep proficiency in Python, strong SQL skills, and cloud data warehouse experience with BigQuery or an equivalent.
- Experience designing API-based ETL systems at scale using REST, GraphQL, webhooks, authentication, and multi-tenancy.
- Production experience with orchestration tools such as Airflow and containerized infrastructure including Docker and Kubernetes.
- Demonstrated technical leadership setting direction, aligning engineers without direct authority, and improving engineering practices.
- Experience mentoring engineers and elevating engineering practice across a team or organization.
- Understanding of OAuth 2.0, API keys, secrets management, and secure multi-tenant architectures.
- Experience with ERP systems, CRMs, CDPs, or other enterprise data tools and APIs is a bonus.
- Exposure to event-driven architectures and real-time data processing tools is a bonus.
- Knowledge of data governance, GDPR, SOC2, and security best practices for sensitive data is a bonus.
- Experience in a multi-tenant SaaS or large-scale data-intensive environment is a bonus.
