Base Salary
$160k - $240k/yr
Responsibilities
- Build intuitive and elegant user experiences for KoBold’s geology, geophysics, geochemistry, and data science teams.
- Own and improve web applications supporting data upload, discovery, search, and visualization.
- Architect tools for interactive 2D/3D geospatial visualization, plotting, and data labeling in collaboration with scientists.
- Champion frontend best practices and modernize the application stack to standardize UIs and accelerate prototyping and deployment.
- Mentor junior developers.
- Set up systems to automate UI testing.
- Collaborate across the company to identify technical products that support business objectives.
Requirements
- Experience architecting, developing, and maintaining frontend applications with rich user experiences.
- Experience writing production-quality code that is correct, performant, scalable, and extensible.
- Proficiency with data visualization libraries such as D3 and Leaflet.
- Experience with modern JavaScript tools and technologies including Node.js, TypeScript, React, and Angular.
- Experience with modern deployment and cloud technologies.
- Experience with Python web frameworks such as Django, Panel, and Flask.
- Knowledge of classic frontend technologies including HTML and CSS.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills.
- Preferred experience with geospatial data and map-based user experiences.
- Preferred familiarity with containerization and orchestration platforms such as Docker, AWS ECS, and Kubernetes.
- Preferred experience with frontend automated-testing systems such as Cypress and Selenium.
- Interest in mineral exploration and willingness to work directly with geologists in the field.
