Responsibilities
- Support the application and infrastructure stack for the CipherTrust Data Security Platform Service.
- Design and maintain observability, monitoring, synthetic testing, dashboards, alerts, and service metrics.
- Participate in on-call rotations and incident response using PagerDuty and related operational processes.
- Lead or support disaster recovery planning, testing, and execution.
- Define and improve SLOs and SLIs and produce monthly operations reports.
- Analyze logs, platform metrics, bottlenecks, reliability gaps, and automation opportunities using Datadog.
- Build and maintain automation and internal CloudOps tooling.
- Deploy, configure, and maintain application and platform layers safely and according to standards.
- Collaborate with architects, developers, and technical stakeholders on scalable and resilient designs.
- Review code and infrastructure changes for quality, maintainability, compliance, and standards adherence.
- Develop, test, and document platform components, runbooks, and operational procedures.
Requirements
- At least 5 years of experience in DevOps, SRE, or CloudOps, including at least 3 years building and operating cloud-native platforms.
- Experience deploying and supporting cloud-based applications and working with cloud service concepts and orchestration toolsets.
- Experience managing large-scale production systems, operational processes, on-call rotations, escalations, uptime, and change management.
- Experience with virtualization technologies and databases such as VMware, Hyper-V, MSSQL, MySQL, PostgreSQL, MongoDB, and Cassandra.
- Experience with cloud and server architecture, REST APIs, microservices deployment, and security-relevant protocols.
- Deep understanding of Linux or Windows operating systems.
- Knowledge of security concerns and security best practices across design, implementation, and operations.
- Experience with Terraform, CloudFormation, Ansible, Kubernetes, OpenShift, OpenStack, Azure Stack, and public and private cloud hosting.
- Experience with AWS, Azure, GCP, private data centers, or Rackspace.
- Strong communication, collaboration, and interpersonal skills in geographically distributed teams.
- Bachelor’s or master’s degree in computer science preferred.
