Responsibilities
- Design and implement guardrails and safety mechanisms for MCP extensions and connectors interacting with external systems and third-party applications.
- Build and enhance monitoring, logging, and alerting for visibility into agent behavior and flows within the IRIS ecosystem.
- Contribute to backend and services codebases by writing, debugging, and testing features and improvements.
- Participate in design discussions, implementation, code reviews, testing, deployment, and post-deployment monitoring.
- Improve developer experiences for internal and external platform builders through documentation and examples.
- Collaborate with product, security, and platform stakeholders to translate requirements into engineering tasks.
- Present work through demos and a final internship presentation.
Requirements
- Currently enrolled in a bachelor’s degree program in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a closely related technical discipline, with expected graduation between December 2027 and May/June 2028.
- Experience with object-oriented programming, data structures, and algorithms through coursework, side projects, or prior internships.
- Experience writing, debugging, and testing code in at least one modern programming language.
- Preferred: familiarity with cloud computing concepts and Azure or AWS.
- Preferred: experience with or interest in learning TypeScript or JavaScript.
- Preferred: exposure to GitHub Copilot or similar AI-assisted coding tools.
- Preferred: strong communication, willingness to learn, proactive problem-solving, and interest in backend, platform, distributed systems, reliable services, and secure services.
