Responsibilities
- Develop, maintain, refactor, and support a broad portfolio of software projects, scripts, APIs, and backend integrations.
- Build API interfaces and services that automate complex workflows involving compute, storage, and other backend systems.
- Deploy services using container cloud platforms based on Kubernetes.
- Troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues in collaboration with team members.
- Coordinate small project teams and initiatives such as service rollouts and major system upgrades.
- Work with vendors and cross-functional teams to prioritize improvements and meet user needs.
- Integrate APIs and services with high-performance computing and data center environments.
- Present developments to staff and the broader HPC community at conferences and industry meetings.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree with 8+ years of related experience, Master's degree with 6+ years of related experience, or equivalent experience.
- 2+ years of API and web-services software development on Linux systems in an HPC, cloud, or hyperscale environment.
- Experience designing and building API interfaces to compute, storage, or other backend systems.
- Experience with some or all of C, Shell, Python, Git, complex CI/CD pipelines, AI or machine learning tools and services, database administration, and Docker or Kubernetes.
- Strong understanding of software engineering best practices for performance and security.
- For Level 4: 12+ years of related experience with a Bachelor's degree or 8+ years with a Master's degree.
- For Level 4: experience with OpenAPI and other API frameworks, Linux systems management, virtualization or container technology deployment and management, project leadership, independent judgment, and analysis of complex technical issues.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
