Base Salary
$146k - $277k/yr
Responsibilities
- Develop 5G Core Network software and next-generation mobile telecommunications processing solutions.
- Develop 3GPP network functions, network interfaces, service-based interfaces, and telecommunications protocols.
- Troubleshoot distributed systems and control-plane signaling paths and use 5G Core Network control-plane probes.
- Collaborate with technical leaders on product visions and roadmaps and develop innovative software solutions.
- Collaborate with customers to elicit requirements and CONOPS.
- Conduct technical research, create technical documentation and presentations, and lead concept demonstrations.
- Travel up to 15% to AST and customer sites for meetings, demonstrations, and system deployments.
Requirements
- Typically requires a STEM degree and at least 10 years of prior relevant experience.
- Requires an aggregate of 7 years of software development experience in 3GPP network functions, network interfaces, protocols, telecommunications reverse engineering, distributed systems, 5G control-plane probes, or service-based microservices.
- Requires demonstrated expertise developing Linux-based software systems with modern C++, Python, or equivalent environments.
- Requires the ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government-issued TS/SCI security clearance with polygraph after starting.
- Requires U.S. citizenship because only U.S. citizens are eligible for the required security clearance.
- Preferred qualifications include an existing TS/SCI clearance with polygraph or current SSBI and knowledge of AMF, SMF, UPF, UDM, PCF, AUSF, and NRF behavior, interactions, and call flows.
- Preferred experience includes 5G control-plane probes, OpenTelemetry, Prometheus, Grafana, 4G EPC, KVM, VMware, OpenStack, AWS, Kubernetes, Helm, Docker, Go, or Rust.
