Responsibilities
- Design, develop, test, maintain, and support high-quality payment software solutions.
- Develop and support COBOL, JCL, DB2, and VSAM applications on IBM Mainframe platforms.
- Participate in architecture reviews, design discussions, code reviews, sprint planning, estimation, and retrospectives.
- Develop and execute automated unit, integration, and regression tests.
- Investigate, diagnose, and resolve customer-reported issues and production incidents.
- Collaborate with Product Management, Professional Services, Support, and engineering teams.
- Create technical documentation, solution designs, and product specifications.
- Drive improvements in performance, resiliency, maintainability, and operational excellence.
- Use AI-assisted engineering tools to improve development efficiency, quality, testing, and productivity.
Requirements
- At least 3 years of software development experience.
- Strong expertise in COBOL, JCL, and DB2 development, plus hands-on IBM Mainframe experience.
- Experience with Linux or Unix platforms and Unix shell scripting.
- Experience with Git or a similar source-control system.
- Experience using AI-powered development tools such as GitHub Copilot, ChatGPT, Claude, or similar tools.
- Experience with debugging, analytical problem-solving, Agile software development, and AI tools in software workflows.
- Willingness to learn legacy and modern technologies and strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Preferred qualifications include Java development, VSAM, card issuing, acquiring or interchange processing, high-volume transaction processing, performance and resiliency initiatives, cloud-hosted payment platforms, legacy modernization, and regulated financial-services experience.
