Responsibilities
- Own assigned features end-to-end from requirements analysis and technical design through development, automation, release, deployment, and production support.
- Design and develop scalable Java-based backend services, REST APIs, microservices, and platform components.
- Build and maintain reusable automation frameworks, libraries, utilities, and test-data components.
- Develop automated API, integration, backend workflow, UI, end-to-end, and regression coverage using tools such as Rest Assured, Playwright, and Selenium.
- Validate complex synchronous, asynchronous, and event-driven workflows across APIs, microservices, databases, messaging systems, and downstream services.
- Integrate automated test suites into CI/CD pipelines, establish quality gates, and optimize execution through parallelization.
- Own automated regression and release validation and ensure production-readiness coverage for new functionality.
- Perform root-cause analysis and troubleshoot issues across application code, databases, messaging systems, containers, and infrastructure.
- Contribute to architecture, scalability, reliability, performance, observability, and testability improvements.
- Troubleshoot production and pre-production issues and collaborate with Development, QA, SRE, and other engineering teams.
- Adopt modern AI-assisted development and automation technologies to improve software quality and engineering productivity.
Requirements
- 3–5 years of experience in software development, automation engineering, or a combination of both.
- Strong hands-on Java programming experience and understanding of object-oriented programming, data structures, concurrency, and software design principles.
- Strong hands-on experience developing test automation and automation frameworks rather than only executing existing scripts.
- Experience with REST APIs, microservices, distributed systems, API automation, and unit, integration, API, and end-to-end automated testing.
- Experience with UI automation using Playwright, Selenium, or similar technologies.
- Understanding of REST APIs, HTTP, JSON, authentication, distributed workflows, software quality, regression testing, and release validation.
- Experience with Kafka, RabbitMQ, or similar messaging technologies.
- Hands-on experience with Docker, Kubernetes, and CI/CD pipelines.
- Experience with container registries such as Docker Hub, OpenShift, or JFrog Artifactory.
- Strong understanding of databases, SQL, data validation, and data modeling, with exposure to Oracle, Cassandra, Elasticsearch, and Redis.
- Strong debugging, troubleshooting, and root-cause analysis skills across multiple layers of distributed systems.
- Strong communication skills and ability to work independently and collaboratively.
- Preferred experience with SaaS, cloud security, cybersecurity, OT/ICS, enterprise-scale platforms, automation framework improvement, parallel and distributed test execution, test-data management, automation optimization, observability, monitoring, SRE practices, and production reliability engineering.
- Preferred experience using GitHub Copilot, Cursor, Windsurf, Claude Code, or other AI-assisted engineering tools, and applying AI to development, testing, debugging, or automation.
- Nice-to-have familiarity with MCP integrations, agentic workflows, RAG pipelines, LLM-based automation, and AI-powered developer and testing tools.
- Bachelor’s or master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
