Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain scalable full-stack applications using React and Java/Spring Boot.
- Build backend services, APIs, distributed systems, and real-time event-driven systems using Apache Kafka.
- Design and implement large-scale data processing and analytics pipelines using Apache Spark.
- Own complex technical problems from architecture and implementation through testing, deployment, and production support.
- Define and review system architecture, technical designs, APIs, data models, and integration patterns.
- Conduct code reviews and promote standards for code quality, maintainability, testability, observability, and engineering excellence.
- Drive initiatives addressing technical debt, system quality, performance, reliability, and developer productivity.
- Mentor engineers through technical guidance, design reviews, code reviews, and hands-on collaboration.
- Collaborate with product managers, architects, and engineering teams to deliver scalable technical solutions.
- Evaluate new technologies and approaches and drive adoption when they provide technical or business value.
Requirements
- 10+ years of software engineering experience with significant experience building and operating large-scale production systems.
- Strong hands-on experience with Java and Spring Boot.
- Strong experience with React, JavaScript/TypeScript, HTML, and CSS.
- Strong experience with Apache Kafka and event-driven or distributed architectures.
- Hands-on experience with Apache Spark and large-scale data processing.
- Strong understanding of distributed systems, microservices, APIs, data modeling, system design, object-oriented design, design patterns, concurrency, data structures, and algorithms.
- Experience designing and implementing highly scalable and reliable systems.
- Experience with automated testing, maintainable code, architecture reviews, code reviews, and technical standards.
- Excellent debugging, problem-solving, communication, collaboration, mentoring, and technical decision-making skills.
- A bachelor's degree in a relevant field and 4 years of software engineering experience, or 6 years of software engineering experience.
- Preferred: a master's degree in a relevant field and 2 years of software engineering experience.
