Foundations Engineer (Platform Hybrid, SF in office)

Responsibilities
- Design and build core infrastructure powering Rox agents.
- Improve the reliability, scalability, and observability of distributed systems.
- Build and maintain cloud infrastructure, deployment systems, and platform tooling.
- Develop systems for real-time context ingestion and low-latency retrieval.
- Support execution frameworks for long-running agent workflows.
- Improve developer experience through automation, tooling, and self-service infrastructure.
- Partner with product engineers and forward deployed engineers to enable rapid production iteration.
- Establish engineering standards for monitoring, incident response, performance, and operational maturity.
- Ship production systems quickly and evolve them based on real-world usage.
Requirements
- Experience building and operating production infrastructure and backend systems.
- Strong experience in cloud infrastructure, platform engineering, or distributed backend systems.
- Familiarity with Kubernetes and container orchestration.
- Familiarity with AWS or GCP cloud infrastructure.
- Familiarity with distributed systems and event-driven architectures.
- Familiarity with observability, reliability engineering, and real-time data or streaming systems.
- Ability to debug production systems across infrastructure and application layers.
- Strong understanding of reliability, scalability, latency, and operational tradeoffs.
- Ability to work across platform and infrastructure domains based on company priorities.
