Responsibilities
- Design and architect reliable, scalable infrastructure and services while forecasting demand and managing capacity.
- Monitor service health and performance, collect and analyze operational data, and provide reporting based on trends.
- Perform incident response, triage, troubleshooting, root cause analysis, maintenance, post-mortems, and on-call support.
- Develop automation tools and scripts for metrics, monitoring, analysis, mitigation, and remediation, and test their effectiveness.
- Provision and decommission infrastructure, applications, services, servers, and database objects as needed.
- Collaborate with software development teams to build and deploy reliable infrastructure and features.
- Identify and execute improvements to performance bottlenecks, deployments, resource usage, speed, and scalability.
- Communicate service capacity, security, performance, reliability requirements, and the potential impact of changes.
- Experiment with new tools and technologies and share site reliability knowledge, trends, and best practices.
Requirements
- Demonstrated comprehensive knowledge of infrastructure and service reliability operations.
- Experience performing technical analysis, troubleshooting, incident response, root cause analysis, maintenance, and post-mortem procedures.
- Ability to develop automation tools or scripts and independently test solutions.
- Ability to monitor services, analyze production data, assess performance trends, and resolve technical issues across services.
- Ability to participate in on-call support and work independently on standard and non-standard operational issues.
- Ability to collaborate across teams and communicate technical risks, requirements, and change impacts clearly.
- Knowledge of security standards, capacity planning, scalability, deployments, and service-level objectives.
