Responsibilities
- Apply infrastructure engineering knowledge to improve data and systems operating at scale.
- Ensure end-to-end application monitoring and use observability tools to identify root causes.
- Drive capacity-management activities, identify capacity risks, and govern remediation statuses.
- Support deployment readiness, resiliency planning, and MTTR improvement with production support teams.
- Plan, design, deploy, and troubleshoot Kafka messaging applications and manage resilient Kafka and Elasticsearch environments.
- Use AI-assisted infrastructure workflows for monitoring, capacity analysis, documentation, and remediation while validating outputs and handling operational data securely.
- Make significant technical decisions across projects involving multiple technologies and applications.
Requirements
- Formal training or certification in infrastructure engineering concepts and at least 2 years of applied experience.
- Hands-on DevOps experience focused on Jenkins, Kubernetes, and SDLC pipelines.
- Experience deploying to hybrid cloud infrastructure across on-premises and off-premises environments.
- Working knowledge of Linux systems, preferably RHEL, with strong command-line troubleshooting skills.
- Experience with Git branch management, infrastructure security, Kafka, Elasticsearch, Helm, and Terraform.
- Experience with production support, deployment readiness, resiliency planning, and MTTR improvement.
- Experience using Datadog, Dynatrace, Geneos, Grafana, and OpenTelemetry for observability and root-cause analysis.
- Working knowledge of querying and monitoring SQL Server, Oracle, and MongoDB databases.
- Ability to validate AI-assisted recommendations and align implementation outcomes with resiliency, security, auditability, and data-sensitivity requirements.
- Preferred: proficiency in Python and/or PowerShell.
- Preferred: Kubernetes, AWS, and Terraform certifications, including CKA, CKAD, AWS Solutions Architect Associate, AWS SysOps Administrator Associate, or HashiCorp Terraform Associate.
- Preferred: experience in financial services or a related industry.
