Responsibilities
- Participate in software design, development, refactoring, support, and code reviews.
- Collaborate with platform teams to deliver platform improvements.
- Optimize the platform for maximum throughput and scalability.
- Build and maintain high-scale, distributed systems with complex interfaces and integrations.
- Work autonomously, take ownership of tasks, and continuously improve systems and processes.
- Document solutions and share knowledge with colleagues.
- Contribute to Playtech’s multi-tenant, event-driven GPAS gaming platform.
Requirements
- At least 3 years of hands-on experience developing server-side applications in Scala.
- Strong working knowledge of Scala, preferably Scala 3, and SBT.
- Solid experience with Pekko or Akka, including HTTP, Actors, Cluster, Persistence, Streams, and connectors.
- Strong understanding of the JVM, data structures, algorithms, and parallel and concurrent programming.
- Practical experience building high-scale distributed systems.
- Excellent problem-solving, critical-thinking, communication, and knowledge-sharing skills.
- Previous iGaming experience is preferred.
- Experience with Typesafe Config, Couchbase or another document-based NoSQL database, AWS S3 or DynamoDB, Play JSON, ScalaTest, Docker, Nomad, Kubernetes, and Linux is preferred.
