Base Salary
$170k - $205k/yr
Responsibilities
- Own end-to-end test strategy across the Console, CLIs, Terraform provider, and MCP servers.
- Build Playwright end-to-end suites, Go integration and acceptance tests, Terraform lifecycle tests, and API contract tests.
- Develop and maintain automation frameworks with parallel execution, flakiness reduction, and GitHub Actions CI integration.
- Define quality gates and release criteria with engineering and product teams.
- Use AI agents to generate and triage tests while reviewing assertions for meaningful coverage.
- Perform exploratory testing across interactions, accessibility, error states, upgrade paths, and documentation.
- Identify cross-surface issues involving Terraform provider changes, API contracts, generated clients, and design system migrations.
- Coach software engineers on test design through code review and pairing.
- Create measurable, testable quality criteria for the product experience.
Requirements
- 5+ years of experience in quality engineering, test automation, or SDET roles on customer-facing products.
- Experience building or helping build a TypeScript automation framework from scratch and running it in CI.
- Ability to discuss parallelization, retries, network interception, and flakiness reduction in automation frameworks.
- Experience testing HTTP APIs, CLIs, and infrastructure tooling.
- Willingness to ramp up on Go and Terraform provider acceptance testing.
- Daily experience using AI coding and testing tools such as Claude Code or similar agents, including understanding their limitations.
- Strong exploratory testing instincts and ability to determine which findings should be automated.
- Clear written communication through bug reports, test plans, and release notes.
