Software Engineer - Low Touch Desk

Responsibilities
- Improve existing core system components and develop supporting tools.
- Design, develop, test, and deploy full-stack system enhancements.
- Build highly available, horizontally scalable, mission-critical applications using modern technologies.
- Develop low-latency order routing, algorithmic strategies, smart order logic, direct market access, and real-time risk-control capabilities.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to define and deliver new features while developing deep financial-domain expertise.
Requirements
- 10+ years of experience developing high-performance algorithmic financial applications.
- Bachelor’s degree or higher in Computer Science, Engineering, Statistics, Math, or a related STEM field.
- Strong programming skills in Java and Python in a Linux environment.
- Strong understanding of financial markets and experience using FIX and binary protocols to communicate with counterparties.
- Experience with low-latency, multithreaded programming and distributed application architecture.
- Strong understanding of operating systems, networks, computer systems, and performance optimization.
- Experience with relational databases, preferably Oracle and Postgres.
- Adaptability to a fast-paced environment, effective technical communication, and a passion for technology and continuous learning.
- Bonus experience with publish/subscribe multicast protocols, critical code-path optimization, unit testing, and containerization technologies such as Docker.
