Base Salary

Responsibilities
- Lead embedded-system architecture and technical efforts across concept development, detailed design, manufacturing, qualification testing, and post-delivery support.
- Architect, implement, and test embedded firmware and software for FPGAs, microcontrollers, microprocessors, and mixed-signal designs.
- Partner with hardware engineers, project managers, technicians, multidisciplinary teams, and customers to develop solutions and inform hardware implementations.
- Support resolution of technical issues found during manufacturing and product testing.
- Troubleshoot board-level issues, assess failures for root cause, and identify corrective actions.
- Perform or support communications data-link design, digital-signal processing, system design, technical trade studies, and evaluation of technology improvements.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or an equivalent degree from an ABET-accredited institution.
- At least 4 years of experience in embedded-system design and test, or at least 2 years with a master's degree.
- Knowledge of tradeoffs among FPGA, SoC, microcontroller, RTOS, and bare-metal targets for cost- and option-optimized architectures.
- Experience with C, C++, assembly, VHDL, and/or Verilog.
- Experience with communication protocols such as UART, Ethernet, SPI, I2C, and CAN bus.
- Hands-on laboratory experience with instrumentation, test equipment, and debugging and testing methods.
- Ability to work collaboratively with multidisciplinary engineering teams.
- Resident of or willingness to relocate to the Huntsville, North Alabama area.
- U.S. citizenship and a Final Secret Clearance, or eligibility to obtain and maintain a Secret Clearance.
- Preferred qualifications include Xilinx FPGA and SoC development, Xilinx IP Cores, AXI4, AXI-Stream, firmware verification, HWIL, ARM Cortex, MicroBlaze, PowerPC, RISC-V, memory and caching architectures, GNU/Linux kernel-driver development, VxWorks, Integrity, FreeRTOS, uC/OS-II, electronics and PCBA design, and high-speed interfaces such as PCIe, Aurora, 100GbE, and JESD204B.
