Responsibilities
- Ensure reliability, performance, scalability, and operational excellence of a multi-cloud DBaaS platform.
- Administer PostgreSQL and support MySQL and SQL Server databases.
- Design and operate database backup, recovery, high-availability, and disaster-recovery solutions.
- Perform query optimization, indexing, performance troubleshooting, database migration, and vertical or horizontal scaling.
- Manage database users, roles, access controls, and auditing.
- Build automation frameworks and infrastructure using Terraform, CloudFormation, Kubernetes, and scripting.
- Monitor databases and services, manage alerts, define or maintain SLOs and SLAs, and participate in incident response and on-call rotations.
- Collaborate with DevOps, infrastructure, engineering teams, and stakeholders on operational standards and reliability practices.
Requirements
- 6–10+ years of experience as a PostgreSQL DBA.
- Strong multi-cloud experience with at least two of AWS, Microsoft Azure, and Google Cloud Platform.
- Deep expertise in high availability, disaster recovery, and database performance tuning.
- Experience with PostgreSQL, plus familiarity with MySQL and SQL Server administration.
- Experience with database backup and recovery, security controls, migration, and scaling.
- Hands-on experience with Terraform, CloudFormation, Kubernetes, monitoring, and observability tools.
- Knowledge of DBaaS or SaaS environments is preferred.
- Experience handling outages, incident response, monitoring and alerting, SLOs, SLAs, and on-call operations.
- Strong communication, collaboration, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.
