Base Salary
$79k - $146k/yr
Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain embedded software features for Silicon Labs wireless radio platforms.
- Design, implement, test, and debug C/C++ firmware for resource-constrained microcontrollers.
- Support radio-control features including transmit, receive, power management, timing, and diagnostics.
- Collaborate with hardware, radio design, SDK, validation, and applications engineering teams to deliver wireless products.
- Investigate software and hardware integration issues using debuggers, logic analyzers, and other lab tools.
- Contribute to code reviews, technical documentation, automated testing, and development-process improvements.
Requirements
- Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related technical field.
- Strong interest in embedded software, wireless communications, and low-level system development.
- Academic or project experience developing embedded software in C or C++.
- Understanding of wireless communication concepts including RF, modulation, packet-based communication, or digital signal processing.
- Familiarity with microcontrollers, embedded peripherals, interrupts, memory-constrained systems, and real-time software concepts.
- Ability to use JTAG/SWD debuggers, oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, or protocol analyzers.
- Strong problem-solving, analytical, debugging, communication, and collaboration skills.
- Preferred experience includes embedded firmware, wireless systems, IoT devices, bare-metal development, Bluetooth Low Energy, Zigbee, Thread, Wi-Fi, proprietary wireless protocols, multiprotocol systems, Python, RTOS concepts, device drivers, bootloaders, power optimization, embedded security, Git, unit testing, and hardware-in-the-loop testing.
- Engineering competitions, technical organizations, research publications, or relevant student leadership activities are also considered a plus.
