Responsibilities
- Lead technical design, implementation, and decision-making for complex initiatives.
- Drive scalable, maintainable, reliable, and performant software solutions in partnership with Product, Design, and Engineering.
- Provide technical leadership on architecture, engineering practices, quality, reliability, observability, and maintainability.
- Mentor and coach engineers through pairing, code reviews, technical discussions, and feedback.
- Communicate technical concepts, trade-offs, and risks to technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Identify product, engineering, and process improvements within the team and product area.
- Help adopt AI-assisted engineering workflows and contribute to the evolution of AI-enabled engineering practices.
Requirements
- 7–10 years of professional software engineering experience, including experience operating at a Senior Engineer level or equivalent.
- Strong professional experience developing software in Java.
- Experience designing, building, and operating distributed systems in cloud-native environments.
- Experience with modern testing, observability, CI/CD, and software delivery practices.
- Proven ability to lead complex technical initiatives and apply strong engineering judgment.
- Deep knowledge of modern engineering practices, architecture design, and product development lifecycles.
- Strong communication, influencing, mentorship, and team-effectiveness skills.
- Demonstrated experience using AI-assisted engineering tools and workflows throughout the software development lifecycle.
- Experience with PHP-based systems and applications is preferred.
- Experience with React and modern front-end technologies is preferred.
