Responsibilities
- Develop Java or Kotlin REST APIs using Spring Boot.
- Maintain and evolve the mission-critical Ruby on Rails monolith.
- Fix complex issues and ensure features built in Kotlin, Ruby, and TypeScript integrate effectively.
- Work with PostgreSQL, cloud services, messaging systems, data pipelines, and graph and search databases.
- Contribute to technical decisions and support the team in a trust-based, async environment.
- Participate in scheduled meetings and provide support to teammates, including overlap with US time zones.
Requirements
- Experience working across multiple technologies and understanding their trade-offs.
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills for navigating complex or legacy codebases.
- Ability to communicate directly and constructively in technical discussions.
- Knowledge of PostgreSQL.
- Experience with Java or Kotlin, Spring Boot, Ruby on Rails, and REST API development is relevant to the role.
- React and TypeScript knowledge is a strong advantage.
- Comfort working remotely with occasional late-afternoon or early-evening CET meeting overlap.
