Responsibilities

  • Design and implement agentic engineering frameworks for industrial automation development.
  • Define architectures integrating agents, skills, workflow orchestration, MCP services, development tools, and reusable libraries.
  • Convert engineering procedures, customer standards, and domain expertise into reusable AI-enabled skills and agent-executable workflows.
  • Create reference architectures supporting AI-assisted development, testing, documentation, code generation, validation, and commissioning.
  • Advise customers on enterprise Automation Code Standards, coding guidelines, naming conventions, modular programming, testing, and lifecycle management.
  • Establish reusable architectures and engineering frameworks for PLC, HMI, SCADA, analytics, and digital manufacturing applications.
  • Assess existing automation architectures, libraries, workflows, and governance models.
  • Facilitate customer workshops and build long-term relationships as a trusted advisor.
  • Improve engineering productivity and consistency through standardization, automation, and AI-assisted workflows.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent years of relevant work experience.
  • Typically at least 8 years of related experience in industrial automation, software engineering, or digital manufacturing solutions.
  • Experience with automation architectures, industrial software development practices, coding standards, governance models, and reusable software frameworks.
  • Knowledge of software architecture patterns, APIs, microservices, and modern development methodologies.
  • Experience leading customer-facing consulting or architecture engagements.
  • Experience with PLC, HMI, SCADA, MES, IIoT, and digital manufacturing platforms.
  • Experience with AI agents, workflow orchestration frameworks, MCP architectures, and agentic development methodologies.
  • Knowledge of cloud-native architectures, containerization, and modern DevOps practices.
  • Familiarity with code generation, AI-assisted development, testing automation, and model-driven engineering.
  • Experience building reusable engineering libraries, templates, frameworks, or accelerators.
  • Knowledge of FactoryTalk, Logix, Optix, industrial digital twins, and modern automation application platforms.
