Base Salary
$157k - $215k/yr
Responsibilities
- Lead the design and delivery of a scalable activity monitoring solution across React UI and Java/Spring Boot backend services.
- Design and evolve Kafka-based event-driven microservices workflows with retries, delivery semantics, and dead-letter queue patterns.
- Set engineering standards for Spring Boot services, including API design, security, logging, performance, and versioning.
- Translate monitoring and operational requirements into technical designs, delivery plans, and measurable outcomes with product owners and stakeholders.
- Design data access patterns across MySQL and Databricks and maintain performant retrieval strategies.
- Establish AWS deployment strategies including blue/green and canary releases, rollback, and configuration management.
- Own Jenkins CI/CD pipelines covering automated builds, tests, quality gates, release orchestration, and environment promotions.
- Build and maintain performant React interfaces and data-heavy AG Grid experiences.
- Improve production readiness through observability, alerting, incident runbooks, and proactive problem management.
- Lead responsible adoption of enterprise-authorized AI-assisted engineering practices and validation standards.
Requirements
- Formal training or certification in software engineering concepts and 5+ years of applied experience, plus 2+ years in a technical lead or lead engineer role.
- Strong hands-on expertise in Java and Spring Boot and working proficiency in Python.
- Experience designing and operating Kafka-based systems, including topics, partitions, consumer groups, ordering, delivery semantics, retries, and dead-letter queues.
- Strong MySQL experience with schema design, indexing, query optimization, transactions, and data modeling.
- Familiarity with NoSQL datastores and search technologies such as Elasticsearch.
- Experience with Databricks and secure, efficient application connectivity for data retrieval.
- Experience leading approved AI-assisted software development tools and validating their outputs for correctness, performance, and security.
- Understanding of responsible AI use, data sensitivity, secure input/output handling, resiliency, security, and compliant engineering practices.
- Experience deploying and operating services on AWS.
- Hands-on React experience, including performance optimization for data-heavy screens and grids such as AG Grid, plus Jenkins CI/CD and modern deployment practices.
- Preferred experience with AWS cloud-native design, IAM, networking, observability, distributed tracing, Docker, Kubernetes, ECS, EKS, Terraform, CloudFormation, security-minded engineering, and monitoring or operational analytics platforms.
