Responsibilities
- Design, build, and automate scalable workflows and data pipelines supporting data acquisition, quality control, and operational processes.
- Drive data strategy and governance, aligning workflows and improving interoperability and consistent ingestion across systems.
- Define validation frameworks, business rules, and monitoring dashboards to ensure data accuracy, timeliness, completeness, and reliability.
- Apply statistical methods, programming, machine learning, AI, and automation technologies to improve data quality and operational efficiency.
- Use events and transcripts domain expertise to design data products that meet client and market needs.
- Manage technical projects end to end and collaborate with Product, Engineering, Data, Quality Assurance, Sales, and News teams.
- Communicate technical concepts clearly to technical and non-technical audiences while working independently in a distributed team.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree or above in Engineering, Computer Science, Mathematics, Statistics, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
- At least 3 years of data engineering experience, including Python, SQL, and/or NoSQL.
- Hands-on experience building and maintaining ETL and data pipelines and managing data at scale.
- Experience ingesting and normalizing data from multiple sources.
- Proficiency with modern data tools such as AWS S3, Lambda, Kafka, Airflow, or the Bloomberg stack.
- Project management skills and the ability to prioritize competing demands and improve workflows, processes, and operations through automation, AI/LLM solutions, and scalable technologies.
- Strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, independence, and demonstrated continuous career growth.
- Proficiency in spoken and written English and Japanese.
- Preferred: CDMP or DCAM certification and interest in or understanding of global financial markets, corporate earnings cycles, and sentiment analysis.
