Responsibilities
- Partner with business-unit leaders to identify, prioritize, and sequence high-leverage AI opportunities.
- Embed with teams as a forward-deployed AI engineer to understand workflows and build automations, copilots, agents, and decision-support tools.
- Design, build, and deploy internal AI-enabled solutions using Claude Code, Glean, retrieval-based systems, agentic workflows, and orchestration frameworks.
- Create reusable prompts, skills, templates, runbooks, reference implementations, and safe AI deployment patterns.
- Collaborate with engineering, data, security, compliance, and clinical stakeholders to ensure solutions are safe, governed, maintainable, and suitable for regulated healthcare environments.
- Influence enterprise AI tool selection, evaluation, rollout, usage standards, and investment priorities.
- Train technical and non-technical users and lead workshops, demonstrations, and office hours.
- Measure and communicate operational, productivity, quality, and user-adoption impact.
- Translate complex AI concepts and technical tradeoffs into practical decisions for executives, clinicians, operators, and frontline teams.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering, data science, or a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
- At least 8 years of experience in software engineering, machine learning engineering, data engineering, solutions engineering, or a closely related field.
- At least 2 years of hands-on experience building and deploying AI-powered systems, including generative AI, retrieval-augmented systems, agentic workflows, or AI-enabled automations.
- Strong software engineering fundamentals and experience building production-quality tools, services, or workflows.
- Experience independently driving ambiguous work from problem framing through deployment and adoption as a senior individual contributor.
- Experience translating business stakeholder pain points into technical solutions and communicating with technical and non-technical audiences.
- Ability to travel and work onsite as needed, with minimum internet speeds of 3.8 Mbps download and 3.0 Mbps upload and latency below 60 ms.
- Preferred experience in healthcare, value-based care, or another regulated environment.
- Preferred hands-on experience with enterprise AI platforms, coding assistants, agent frameworks, workflow orchestration tools, retrieval-augmented generation, prompt and context design, evaluation methods, and production guardrails.
- Preferred strong Python skills and experience with cloud-based data and application workflows, ideally in AWS.
- Preferred experience with internal AI copilots, automation tools, knowledge systems, agentic applications, AI vendor evaluation, enablement programs, and cross-team standards.
