Responsibilities
- Develop and support real-time systems that collect data from Asia Pacific stock exchanges.
- Own technical problems and make major design decisions within the assigned area.
- Review and, where appropriate, approve decisions and work produced by junior engineers.
- Provide technical leadership to a small to medium technical team in partnership with management.
- Mentor team members, assess technical skills, and recommend training, coaching, and development.
- Improve development quality and promote best engineering practices.
- Provide technical input on performance, skills, projects, and issues to diverse audiences, including senior business stakeholders.
- Coordinate decisions involving contractor and vendor resources when required.
Requirements
- At least 5 years of system design, coding, and testing experience.
- Major design decision-making experience on a system exceeding 100,000 lines of source code.
- At least 5 years of independent professional experience across multiple IT areas, such as networking, application engineering, operations, and service support.
- Experience with C/C++, Linux, Windows, and Python.
- Strong communication, interpersonal, leadership, presentation, written, and spoken English skills.
- Ability to adapt to changes in business strategy and client demands.
- Knowledge of financial markets is preferred.
- Experience with AWS, Azure, cloud-based development, and testing is preferred.
- Proficiency in using AI tools to improve productivity, software quality, test automation, and problem resolution is preferred.
