Responsibilities
- Lead the design of complex, multi-region, highly available distributed systems.
- Author architectural documentation and standards for Azure and AWS component utilization.
- Lead architectural reviews across product pods for reliability, security, and performance alignment.
- Drive the transition toward serverless, Kubernetes, and internal developer platforms.
- Partner with Finance and Engineering leadership on cloud budgets, automated cost controls, and attribution models.
- Mentor senior engineers and influence cross-functional product and engineering roadmaps.
- Translate technical debt and architectural trade-offs into business risk for non-technical stakeholders.
Requirements
- 9+ years of experience in software engineering or systems architecture, including at least 5 years focused on large-scale cloud environments.
- Experience architecting at least three enterprise-level implementations or four to six major projects in an Agile environment.
- Deep knowledge of cloud networking, IAM, storage, compute, Kubernetes, Nomad, Kafka, and event-driven patterns.
- Mastery of Terraform, Pulumi, or CloudFormation at enterprise scale, including modular design, state management, and CI/CD integration.
- Proficiency in OOAD, design patterns, and at least one of .NET, Java, Python, or Go.
- Expertise with AWS, Azure, or GCP and with building API-first cloud services.
- Strong analytical, communication, business translation, self-starter, and leadership capabilities.
- Preferred: knowledge of React; cloud compliance experience with SOC 2, HIPAA, or PCI-DSS; open-source cloud-native contributions; and professional AWS, Azure, or GCP certifications.
