Responsibilities
- Establish and implement new or revised application systems and programs using Python.
- Lead, architect, and deliver complex software development projects from inception through production deployment.
- Conduct feasibility studies, time and cost estimates, IT planning, risk assessment, application development, and model development.
- Oversee analysis, design, construction, testing, implementation, and operational support for applications.
- Analyze complex application and business-process issues and recommend advanced programming solutions.
- Design and implement security measures and perform post-implementation analysis of business usage.
- Develop and consume secure RESTful APIs and inter-application integrations.
- Build scalable, resilient, and high-performance distributed applications and data-processing pipelines.
- Establish automated deployment pipelines and support cloud-based containerized applications.
- Perform advanced troubleshooting, debugging, and performance optimization.
- Conduct code reviews, provide technical guidance and mentorship, and coach lower-level analysts.
- Consult with users, clients, business teams, and technology groups and serve as a subject-matter expert to stakeholders.
- Help define operating standards and processes while ensuring required procedures and controls are followed.
Requirements
- At least 7 years of progressive experience in application development or systems analysis with substantial Python experience.
- Expert knowledge of Python, Django, Flask, FastAPI, software architecture, object-oriented programming, and distributed-system design patterns.
- Experience with Microservices and Event-Driven Architecture.
- Experience with PostgreSQL, Oracle, SQL Server, MongoDB, Cassandra, and Redis.
- Experience designing, developing, and consuming secure RESTful APIs.
- Hands-on experience with Jenkins, GitLab CI, GitHub Actions, automated deployment pipelines, Docker, Kubernetes, AWS, Azure, and GCP.
- Proficiency with Pytest, unittest, secure coding, OWASP Top 10, data encryption, access control, Git, branching strategies, and pull-request workflows.
- Exposure to TensorFlow, PyTorch, scikit-learn, Copilot, Devin, Windsurf, Antigravity, Claude, Gemini, GPT, generative AI, and agentic AI tools and frameworks.
- Experience or familiarity with Java, Apache Spark, Hadoop, Kafka, data-processing pipelines, data warehousing, React, Angular, and Vue.js.
- Leadership and project-management experience, including stakeholder communication, resource allocation, mentoring, code reviews, and technical decision-making.
- Understanding of Agile/Scrum and strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Financial-services domain knowledge, regulatory requirements, and compliance standards are beneficial.
- Relevant cloud certifications, PMP, CSM, or CSPO certifications are beneficial.
