Responsibilities
- Design and document software components, services, platforms, and scalable systems.
- Implement secure, stable, testable, maintainable code and maintain clear documentation.
- Serve as a technical lead and own projects from inception through delivery and operation.
- Design unit and integration test automation and participate in code reviews.
- Maintain and enhance software frameworks and contribute to software engineering standards and practices.
- Build and scale cloud infrastructure services and support large-scale distributed production systems.
- Participate in on-call rotations and monitor, log, alarm, and operate production systems.
- Design data models and databases and work with relational, graph, document, and key-value data stores.
- Mentor and coach other engineers and collaborate with multifunctional internal and external teams.
- Support security, software licensing, regulatory, and internal audit activities and implement controls to address compliance risks.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Computer Information Systems, or equivalent work experience.
- Proficiency in at least one of C#, Python, TypeScript, JavaScript, or React Native for cross-platform development.
- Experience with software development, platform or service engineering, systems design, secure development, testing, source control, continuous deployment, and production operations.
- Experience building and scaling infrastructure services using Amazon Web Services or Microsoft Azure.
- Understanding of cloud infrastructure services including identity platforms, networking, storage, databases, containers, and serverless technologies.
- Experience fixing large-scale distributed production systems and supporting production systems through on-call rotations.
- Knowledge of relational, graph, document, and key-value databases, data modeling, database design, and SQL.
- Ability to solve complex problems, work independently amid ambiguity, communicate with technical and senior stakeholders, and influence collaborators.
- Preferred strengths include mentoring and coaching engineers, product-centric system design, empathy, curiosity, and focus on customer experiences.
