Responsibilities
- Design and build core platform services for a cloud-native insurance system.
- Architect scalable and reliable distributed services on AWS container infrastructure.
- Design APIs, metadata models, and workflows for complex insurance products.
- Build structured and versioned systems that support safe automation and future AI-assisted workflows.
- Use AI-assisted development tools while maintaining ownership of system correctness.
- Collaborate with Product, Customer Delivery, and Solution Architects to translate business requirements into platform capabilities.
- Review code and mentor other engineers.
- Continuously improve platform architecture, infrastructure, and developer productivity.
Requirements
- Strong experience building complex production systems or platform services.
- Experience designing distributed systems and service architectures.
- Experience with Golang, Python, and/or Node.js/TypeScript.
- Hands-on experience running systems on AWS or similar modern cloud infrastructure.
- Familiarity with microservices, containers, and CI/CD pipelines.
- Strong focus on system design, data modeling, and long-term maintainability.
- Regular use of AI tools in the engineering workflow.
- Clear communication and collaborative work with engineering, product, and customer teams.
- Curiosity and ability to tackle complex problems without predefined playbooks.
