Responsibilities
- Work directly with users and customers to understand workflows and identify high-impact operational problems.
- Build, deploy, operationalize, support, and iterate AI-powered solutions in real-world enterprise environments.
- Develop data ingestion, cleaning, transformation, validation, and ETL/ELT pipelines for data-intensive applications.
- Build integrations and automate workflows across APIs, databases, files, and other systems.
- Transform structured and unstructured data from multiple sources for downstream applications.
- Drive solutions independently from requirements gathering through deployment and iteration.
- Collaborate across engineering, product, operations, data, business, and customer success teams.
- Use field feedback to influence product direction and support global sourcing and supply management solutions.
Requirements
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related technical field.
- 4–7 years of experience in software engineering, solutions engineering, technical consulting, data engineering, or other business-facing technical roles.
- Strong hands-on engineering skills with Python, APIs, infrastructure platforms, and systems integrations.
- Strong understanding of data ingestion, cleaning, transformation, ETL/ELT, data validation, and pipeline design.
- Hands-on experience building or maintaining data pipelines for data-intensive applications.
- Experience working with structured and unstructured data and transforming data from multiple sources.
- Experience with SQL and relational databases, including querying, data transformation, and troubleshooting.
- Experience deploying, supporting, and troubleshooting production systems in enterprise environments is preferred.
- Experience with LLMs or GenAI APIs, modern AI tooling, agent frameworks, prompt engineering, and orchestration platforms is preferred.
- Understanding of data requirements for AI/ML applications, including data preparation, retrieval, evaluation, and data quality is preferred.
- Ability to solve problems independently, operate in ambiguity, collaborate cross-functionally, and influence product direction.
- Japanese language proficiency sufficient to communicate with Japanese-speaking customers and stakeholders and understand technical and business requirements in Japanese.
- Experience in startup or high-growth environments and strong product intuition and business empathy are preferred.
