Responsibilities
- Design and develop C/C++ software modules for high-performance network applications.
- Integrate networking software with Python-based modules.
- Implement and work with Ethernet, IP, TCP/UDP, BGP, OSPF, MPLS, and other L2–L7 protocols.
- Debug complex issues across application, transport, and network layers and analyze crash files.
- Configure and troubleshoot virtual networking, including bridges, TAP/TUN interfaces, VLANs, and virtual switches.
- Deploy and test networking software in KVM, VMware, VirtualBox, and cloud VM environments.
- Collaborate with architecture, QA, and DevOps teams on software design, deployment, configuration, and testing.
- Participate in code reviews and technical design discussions while enforcing maintainable, high-quality coding practices.
- Mentor junior engineers and contribute to technical documentation.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Electronics, or a related discipline.
- 7–10 years of hands-on software development experience with C/C++ and Python.
- Strong understanding of networking concepts and protocols, including IPv4/IPv6, ARP, VLAN, TCP/IP, routing, switching, and network virtualization.
- Experience with Linux-based systems, system programming, socket programming, and multithreading.
- Hands-on experience with packet capture and analysis tools such as Wireshark and tcpdump.
- Experience integrating software with network management systems, SNMP, or REST APIs.
- Strong debugging, problem-solving, software design, performance optimization, analytical, and communication skills.
- Proven track record of delivering production-quality software in fast-paced collaborative teams.
- Preferred experience with DPDK/VPP, SDN/NFV, network appliances, VPP or DPDK-based applications, OpenConfig, NETCONF/YANG, gRPC, and telemetry systems.
- Preferred familiarity with CI/CD pipelines, Git, Jenkins, Docker, Kubernetes, KVM, libvirt, VMware, VirtualBox, bridges, vSwitches, TAP/TUN interfaces, NAT, and host-only networking.
