Responsibilities
- Rotate across product teams to improve quality practices and automation.
- Define and evolve test pyramids and make coverage, reliability, and speed trade-offs.
- Build AI agents, test frameworks, CI tooling, helper scripts, and reliable E2E automation.
- Develop performance benchmarks and improve test environments, data fixtures, flakiness, and diagnosis time.
- Use AI tools for test authoring, failure triage, coverage analysis, and proposed fixes while maintaining test trustworthiness.
- Partner with product and engineering teams on shift-left quality, acceptance criteria, risk identification, and exploratory testing.
- Use Datadog, Sentry, and Grafana to connect test coverage with production issues and customer impact.
- Establish and improve Service Level Objectives and collaborate on incident root-cause analysis.
Requirements
- 5+ years of experience in quality engineering or test automation.
- Experience working across multiple teams in a scaled engineering environment.
- Hands-on experience writing test code, frameworks, CI pipelines, and helper scripts.
- Experience with API and contract testing, test data strategy, and test environment strategy.
- Experience setting up and using Service Level Objectives and driving measurable reliability improvements.
- Demonstrated use of AI-assisted workflows for test authoring, failure triage, or coverage analysis, including judgment about when not to use AI.
- Experience coaching other disciplines and driving collaborative quality improvements.
- Experience shaping CI/CD pipelines for test reliability, including flakiness reduction, parallelization, artifact management, and runtime control.
- Ability to work independently, communicate clearly, and drive improvements across frameworks, CI, test data, and reporting.
- Ability to demonstrate measurable impact from 3–4 quality improvement projects.
- Incident management and root-cause analysis experience is preferred.
- Experience with PHP, Kotlin, or TypeScript is preferred.
- Experience in financial services or another regulated environment is preferred.
