Responsibilities
- Design infrastructure and automated systems supporting distributed architectures.
- Build and manage CI/CD pipelines while improving reliability, deployment speed, and change lead time.
- Trace infrastructure and application performance bottlenecks and implement optimizations.
- Collaborate with engineering teams to meet customer SLO and SLA requirements.
- Maintain highly available web and backend systems serving millions of users and thousands of requests per second.
- Configure AWS cloud services with developers to support new feature development.
- Secure cloud and application infrastructure using IAM and PKI.
- Build and expand infrastructure and business-operations monitoring and alerting systems.
- Establish infrastructure-as-code coverage across the platform.
- Develop developer productivity tools and automate manual operational processes.
Requirements
- 7+ years of DevOps experience.
- 5+ years of database administration experience with Postgres, MariaDB, and MSSQL.
- 4+ years orchestrating large-scale distributed microservice deployments on Kubernetes and EC2.
- 4+ years building and managing EKS clusters with strong Kubernetes ecosystem knowledge.
- BS in Computer Science or a related field, or equivalent practical experience in large-scale systems.
- Deep AWS expertise, including multi-region environments managed with Terraform.
- Ability to build infrastructure automation tooling and services using Python, TypeScript, Go, or Bash.
- Advanced experience with Kubernetes and Docker, including Service Mesh technologies such as Istio or Linkerd.
- Experience scaling and troubleshooting PostgreSQL, DynamoDB, Redis, Kafka, RabbitMQ, or SQS.
- Experience building monitoring and logging stacks with Prometheus, Grafana, ELK, or OpenSearch.
- Experience integrating security-focused pipelines into GitHub CI or GitLab CI.
- Ability to debug and optimize complex systems from low-level networking through application-layer logic.
- Security-focused experience with infrastructure-as-code, container builds, and microservice deployments.
